Hector Moreno talks new life at Roma AS – Interview Video with KICK

Mexican international star defender, Hector Moreno, performed exceptionally well this summer for Mexico in the Confederations Cup and now is ready to do the same for his new team in the Calcio Serie A. In a ‘Walk Talk Football’ video interview with KICK, the new Roma AS player discusses many things such as the importance of transferring into a top football team, to food in Italy, to challenges in the Mexican national team.

The defender has had a long succesful career even at his young age of 29. Forming part of the squad which won Mexico’s first ever U-17 World Cup in 2005, he then proceeded to start for Pumas UNAM in the Liga MX for a couple of seasons which allowed him to transfer to the Eredivisie’s AZ Alkmaar in 2008. There, he helped the team win a title in 2008 in a league hitorically dominated by Ajax and PSV Eindhoven.

Moreno then made a transfer to La Liga’s Espanyol in 2011 where he excelled and in 2015 he made his return to the Eredividisie but this time with PSV Eindhoven. In two seasons at PSV, the Mexican star helped win the 2015-2016 league title, and scored over eleven goals in over sixty games.

Now at the start of the 2017-2018 season, Moreno has a resume with a long succesful career which has been a household name in Mexico since his U-17 World Cup victory twelve years ago. Having played in two World Cups, Confederation tournaments, Copa Americas, and Gold Cups, the defender will be a key role in Roma’s title aspirations next season.
