Tottenham have been handed a major boost in their pursuit of Estudiantes defender Juan Foyth as per The Irish Sun.
The Argentina youth international right-back reportedly favours a move to north London despite PSG meeting the club’s £9million asking price.
Foyth has told the Primera División outfit that he rather wants to play under fellow countryman Mauricio Pochettino than at the Parc des Princes.
Spurs, though, aren’t willing to pay his entire buyout fee at once. They would rather part with £6.25million outright, and a subsequent £2.75million in add-ons off his performances.
Foyth feels his chances of regular football are higher at Tottenham considering Pochettino’s rich history of giving chances to youth players.
The 19-year-old is seen as a backup option for Kieran Trippier following the England international’s emergence as first-choice right-back.
Foyth is highly-rated in South America, and has been tipped to stake a claim in the national team few years from now.
The teenager’s choice of Tottenham makes things easier for the north London club, and they now have an upper hand over PSG in the race for his signature.
