Tottenham to reportedly face competition from Bayern for 21-year-old

According to reports, Bayern Munich could enter the race to battle Tottenham in the race to sign Jeremy Toljan from Hoffenheim.

Tottenham are reportedly targeting the Germany under-21 international Toljan to provide competition for Kieran Trippier next season following the departure of Kyle Walker to Manchester City.

It now appears that Bayern may target the youngster to provide cover for the injured Juan Bernat.

The Spanish international underwent ankle ligament surgery on Monday and could be set to spend some time on the sidelines to recover.

Spurs have been heavily linked with Toljan recently, though the player’s agent Ersin Akan has revealed that he has not yet received a formal offer from Mauricio Pochettino’s club. Akan said, “It is always a pleasure to read big clubs like Tottenham are interested in Jeremy.

“Spurs are a fantastic club with an excellent progression in the last years, but we didn’t speak to the responsible persons and, for the moment, everything is a rumour.”
