Everton manager Ronald Koeman believes that his club’s new signing Davy Klaassen has what it takes to succeed in the intensity and tempo of the Premier League.
Klaassen arrived at the Toffees this summer from Dutch giants Ajax after an impressive spell with his boyhood club during which he notched 55 goals.
He will be required to be a creative spark in the team next season and has been viewed as a replacement for Ross Barkley, who is set to depart from the Merseyside club this summer.
Klaassen was also the captain of Ajax prior to his arrival at Goodison Park and will also be able to provide leadership.
Koeman has now backed the 24-year-old Klaassen for success by saying, “Davy has made this step in his career at the right time. He spent four seasons with Ajax and gained experiences in Europe and with the Dutch team.
“He will have to get used to the high tempo we play and it will tougher for him, especially from a physical point of view, but Davy has developed well as a player. He is intelligent and can read the game.”
