Tottenham Hotspur reportedly can sign target for bargain price

Tottenham could be set to complete the signing of defender Jeremy Toljan for a bargain price of just £3.1 million, according to reports.

The North London club are hoping to sign Toljan ahead of next season in order to provide competition to Kieran Trippier following the departure of Kyle Walker to Manchester City for £50 million.

Spurs had also been linked with the signature of Ricardo Pereira but it now appears that they have cooled their interest in signing the Portugal international, who is said to be a target of Italian giants Juventus.

The Germany under-21 international Toljan is also said to be a target of Benfica but it has been reported that he prefers a move to England.

Hoffenheim director of football Alex Rosen did not rule out a move of Toljan to Spurs and said, “If Tottenham come in and offer to treble Toljan’s salary, you cannot say: ‘London is an unattractive city or Tottenham are a bad club.’ This is all very positive, and then young people think about it.”
