PSG surprisingly failed to win the Ligue 1 title in the 16-17 campaign, finishing behind Monaco but will look to win the title in this upcoming season. The Parisians had a disappointing recent result in this competition, falling 4-2 against Tottenham in Orlando, Florida.
Edinson Cavani and Javier Pastore provided the goals for Unai Emery but the Spanish manager will need a much better effort by his team in this game to secure the win in this game. PSG did defeat Roma in Penalties in its debut in this tournament and will be going for a second win here.
The team from Paris did secure Dani Alves this summer but still seem to be looking for a splash signing to improve the team and give a solid run in the Champions League. This will be a solid test for the French side coming up against a consistent Juventus team.
Juventus won the Serie A title yet again and will be looking to do the same this season as well as a fruitful Champions League campaign. The Italian side is coming off a hard-fought 2-1 loss against Barcelona, where Giorgio Chiellini scored the lone goal of the encounter for Massimiliano Allegri’s team.
Juventus should fare better in this game but will still have a very tough opponent but that should make for a spectacular clash. The rigid Juventus’ defense against PSG’s explosiveness should be a great matchup to see and should provide an interesting duel for the fans.
