This Wednesday, July 26, 2017 (8:000 PM Pacific) Manchester City will play Real Madrid at the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum for a match in the 2017 International Champions Cup. Both teams have world-class talent and are expected to thrive in the upcoming season in their respective leagues which should make for an intriguing match.
Manchester City had a disappointing first season under Pep Guardiola finishing third in the EPL and finishing with a round of 16 exit in the Champions League. The Spanish manager is already making key signings this offseason to strengthen the team, most notably adding to the back line with the additions of Danilo, Benjamin Mendy and Kyle Walker.
The Citizens debut in this International Champions Cup was very underwhelming, falling 2-0 against arch-rivals Manchester United in Houston, Texas. Manchester City will face an even tougher task in this game facing Real Madrid and it should prove to be a tremendous test for Pep Guardiola and company.
Real Madrid had a spectacular 16-17 season, winning the La Liga crown and the Champions League trophy and should fight for both championships again this season. Los Merengues have not been very busy this offseason but have added some key names like Theo Hernandez and Dani Ceballos.
The Spanish side had a decent debut in this competition, drawing 1-1 against Manchester United but is expected to do much better in this game and possibly take the win in Los Angeles. The match should be a very hard-fought encounter and provide an entertaining game for the fans.
