New West Ham signing Javier Hernandez has revealed that the desire of manager Slaven Bilic to bring him to the East London club played in role in him joining the club.
Hernandez arrives at the Hammers on a three year deal as the club looks to bolster its strike force ahead of the new season. The striker has since revealed that Bilic’s desire to offer him a good contract helped convince him to return to England.
Hernandez said of the move, “Slaven Bilic was a massive part of why I joined. Since I joined Bayer Leverkusen he wanted me, he spoke with me.
“He did everything he could to bring me here but couldn’t for a lot of reasons and now I am here I want to repay him,”
Hammers fans can take heart from the fact that the Mexican international is a proven goal scorer in the Premier League having scored 57 goals from 159 appearances in all competitions during his spell with Manchester United from 2010-2015.
He also boasts a record of 39 goals from 76 appearances for Bayer Leverkusen, which is impressive.
