According to reports, Tottenham are closing in on a deal to sign Germany under-21 star Jeremy Toljan from Hoffenheim.
The 22-year-old Toljan recently impressed by helping guide the Germany under-21 side win the European under 21 Championships last month.
Toljan made his professional debut for Hoffenheim at the age of 18 in 2013 and has been tipped by many to make the German national team in the future.
Should he move to Maurico Pochettino’s club, he will likely be used to provide competition to Kieran Tripper. Kyle Walker left the club to join Manchester City recently and hence Tripper is expected to start the new season as first choice right back.
The prospect of playing in the Champions League should he appealing to Toljan. He will also be a good signing for Spurs considering that Kyle Walker-Peters is not as yet experienced enough to provide competition to Trippier.
