According to reports, French club Saint-Etienne and Spanish club Real Betis are competing to sign Aston Villa midfielder Jordan Veretout.
Betis are said to be aiming for a loan move for the coming season and will attempt to meet with the representatives of the player to discuss a possible deal.
Following Villa’s relegation from the Premier League during the 2015-16 season, Veretout spent last season on loan with Saint-Etienne for who he played 30 matches in all competitions, scoring four goals and the club are interested in signing him again, this time on a permanent basis.
The club’s manager Oscar Garcia is said to have made contact with Veretout with the player himself believed to be open to going back to the club.
Veretout is currently with the Villa side as part of their pre-season preparations and he did feature during their 4-0 friendly win over Telford.
