Villa boss Bruce makes encouraging admission about further activity in the transfer market

According to reports, Aston Villa boss Steve Bruce wants to sign two to three more players this summer as he looks to launch a promotion push next season.

Despite spending a large amount of money to bring in the likes of Scott Hogan, Jonathan Kodjia and Henri Lansbury to the team last summer, Villa struggled for form in the Championship.

The Villains are hoping to improve on their displays next season and have managed to sign arguably one of the best defenders in the modern era, veteran John Terry on a one year deal recently.

They have also been strongly linked with Stoke City veteran Greg Whelan over recent weeks.  Whelan is likely to leave Mark Hughes’ club and has publicly spoken of his desire to link up with Villa.

The club are also said to be interested in signing Ahmed El-Mohammady, who is familiar with Bruce, having previously played under him at Sunderland as well as Hull City.
