This Sunday, July 9, 2017 (4:00 PM Pacific) Curacao vs Jamaica at Qualcomm Stadium in San Diego, California for a group stage match in the 2017 CONCACAF Gold Cup. The game should be a contested clash and provide a hard-fought encounter.
Curacao is not revered for producing soccer stars but is well known for having produced world-class baseball players over the years. While the Islanders do not have the best squad, several players on the team do play across Europe. Some of the more notable names being former Southampton player, Cuco Martina and current Aston Villa player, Leandro Bacuna. The game will not be easy for the Dutch side but it should not be an impossible task for the Islanders.
Jamaica is a much more experienced side and is one of the favorites to come out of this Group C along with Mexico. The Islanders count with a rigid side with several players who play in the United States, including six MLS players. Some of the more notable names include Kemar Lawrence of the New York Red Bulls and Darren Mattocks of the Portland Timbers. The game should prove to be an entertaining encounter with two teams heavily motivated for the three points.
