Charly Musonda has been known as priority target Celtic boss Brendan Rodgers and several rumors have appeared claiming that Chelsea’s youngster is near a move to Parkhead and that the transfer is almost agreed. The speculated value of the move was £5 million.
However to put the possibility of the move in doubt, the Daily Star reports that Charly’s brother, Lamisha Musonda has left a message on his Instagram account saying that his brother is flattered with the Hoops interest but that he is focused on his obligations at Stamford Bridge.
This will be a huge setback for the Rodgers. The former Liverpool and Swansea manager is said to have wanted to create a lethal offense with Sinclair, Dembele and Musonda upfront but it looks unlikely at the moment.
Musonda moved to Chelsea 5 years ago, as a hot prospect from the Belgian side Anderlecht but the 20-year-old still hasn’t made a debut for the Blues yet, and he spent some time on loan at Real Betis over the past few years.
However, Rodgers is convinced that he has enormous talent and that can contribute, immediately, if he joins Celtic.
