West Ham reportedly open talks to sign record breaking striker

According to reports, West Ham United have held talks with Bayer Leverkusen about signing Javier Hernandez.

The Hammers are looking for a new striker with a proven record of scoring in the Premier League and Hernandez could be what they are looking for.

The former Manchester United star has a release contract in his contract of £13 million and with his contract expiring next year, Leverkusen may consider selling.

After moving to Leverkusen from United for £7.3 million in August 2015, Hernandez has scored 39 goals for the club. He became the Mexican national team’s all-time leading goal scorer in May when he bagged his 47th goal during a 2-1 defeat against Croatia.

The Hammers are keen to add new strikers to their roster this summer. In addition to Hernandez, they have also displayed interest in signing Olivier Giroud from Arsenal, Kelechi Iheanacho from Manchester City, Michy Batshuayi from Chelsea and Anthony Modeste from Koln.
