Former Celtic forward Kenny Dalglish is not worried about the Bhoys’ lack of transfer activity thus far this summer and does not feel that the club really needs to spend big ahead of next season.

Brendan Rodgers team dominated Scottish football last season, claiming treble success without losing a match locally and Dalglish feels that due to their successes of the past season, they do not need a massive squad revamp.

Thus far the only notable signings to arrive at Parkhead have been Jonny Hayes from Aberdeen and Kundai Benyu from Ipswich Town, and Dalglish does not feel that this is a cause for concern. He instead feels that the club should focus on the talent that they currently have.

Dalglish said, “If you target a player who costs millions and millions to buy from another club, you then have to look at adding on another few million pounds for a four-year contract.

“Is a total package in the region of £12-14 million good business for Celtic? And, let’s be totally honest, would any player in that price range be guaranteed to get in the starting line-up just now?”
