Celtic have signed another player for the upcoming season, and the deal looks to be one with the future in mind. With midfielder Kundai Benyu now signed up, the player himself also feels this way.
In a telling interview, according to the Daily Record, the midfielder spoke on a number of topics. One of the most notable things he said “I know I’m joining one of the biggest clubs in the world, with 60,000 fans at every home game.” He clearly wants to play in front of the big crowd!
He then added that “the gaffer has helped a lot of young players in the past like Raheem Sterling and Jordan Ibe, so I’m hoping to be a part of that list.” Benyu joins the Hoops from Ipswich Town, where he refused to re-sign with the English club.
That has been done with a look and with the hope of future gains to be made by him. Whether or not he becomes a star is unknown, but Rodgers has done wonders with Dembele and Sterling before. Benyu could become the next name in that ever-growing list, and if not, Celtic haven’t paid much for him.
