Leeds United reportedly closing-in on the signing of Serie A star

The defender of the Italian Serie A side Bologna, Filip Helander, is nearing a move to Leeds United. Goal.com reports that the Swedish international might be joining the Peacocks in the coming days.

The two teams have not agreed on a price as of yet though as Bologna are asking for €6 million, while Leeds are ready to pay only €4 million.

During this January last season, Helander joined his current club for €2 million, and soon became one of the leading players.

This has attracted the attention from Leeds United, who have reportedly projected Helander to be a long-term solution for center-back position.

It seems at this point that Kyle Bartley will be heading back to Swansea, after his loan expired, and the club from Elland Road now needs a new defender as replacement.

Helander would be a good fit because he has also played in pair with international compatriot Pontus Jansson, who is contracted to the Yorkshire team. In their previous parts of careers, they have played for both Malmo and the Swedish national selection.
