According to reports, veteran English striker Jermain Defoe has completed a move to Bournemouth on a three year deal. The 34-year-old Defoe left Sunderland following the Black Cats relegation from the Premier League.

Despite his advancing years, Defoe proved last season that he still can compete at the highest level by netting 15 goals in the Premier League. He is one of the most experienced strikers in England and will be a valuable addition on and off the pitch to the Cherries.

It is understood that the 34-year-old will also use the move in order to try and convince England manager Gareth Southgate to include him as part of the Three Lions 2018 World Cup plans.

The former Tottenham and Pourtsmouth striker will pocket £65,000-a-week at Bournemouth. Eddie Howe’s team are now also interested in signing another English veteran as rumors have suggested that they are looking to recruit Chelsea legend John Terry.
