Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly considering a £2.6 million swoop for Barcelona youngster Carlos Alena. The 19-year-old is a highly rated prospect but he could be tempted to move away from the Nou Camp this summer due to a lack of first team opportunities.
The youngster reportedly wants to receive confirmation from new club boss Ernesto Valverde that he is part of the club’s future first team plans before committing his future. Should the Catalan giants wish to retain the services of the youngster, they will have to act fast as his contract runs out soon.
Though a number of teams are said to be interested in luring Alena, Spurs are believed to be leading the race to sign him, should he not agree terms with Barca.
Considering that Mauricio Pochettino has developed a reputation for moulding youngsters into superstars as he has done with Dele Alli and Harry Kane, the move to Tottenham may also be an appealing one for Alena.
