Leeds United reportedly plotting ambitious move for ex-Real Madrid man

New Leeds United manager Thomas Christiansen has seen a couple of signings take place already, but he will be hoping to make yet another in the very near future in order to help his new side push on further in the Championship come the new season.

The hope is that they will be able to sign former Real Madrid trainee Samuel Saiz, according to the Yorkshire Evening Post. The Spaniard is the next player in an increasingly long line of flair players that have been moving to England’s second flight league.

The Huesca man is very versatile and would represent a bargain in comparison to just about anything they could manage to buy from the British Isles as inflation has set many a club a back more than they would have liked.

The report states that he “is known to have been in talks with Leeds” and that “he is keen on the move… despite interest from La Liga clubs.”

This would represent a potentially major coup then for Leeds as they look to at least finish in the top six and have a crack at the Championship playoffs come the new season. He had 12 goals in the Segunda last season, so doing the same would be massive in the Championship for Leeds to go along with striker Chris Wood’s output.
