West Ham reportedly losing the race to sign former Arsenal defender

As sources close to TalkSport are finding out, Johan Djourou is set to snub the Hammers in favor of a move to Montpellier.

The former Arsenal man was heavily linked with a move to the London stadium, but it seems that West Ham boss Slaven Bilic will have to turn his focus elsewhere.

Multiple sources are claiming that the Switzerland international will sign a two-year deal with Montpellier instead of West Ham. Djourou has played for Hamburg ever since he left Arsenal in 2013, managing to collect 94 appearances in the Bundesliga

During his stay in England, the giant defender played exactly 100 games in the Premier League, including a loan spell at Birmingham.

If Djourou decides to join Montpellier, West Ham will turn their attention elsewhere, but it seems that defense is not their weakest point.

According to reports, Bilic is more interested in buying a reliable and proficient striker, since his team needs strengthening in the attacking sector.
