Manchester City reportedly begin talks with Tottenham over potentially huge deal

According to reports, Manchester City are set to begin talks with Tottenham over signing defender Kyle Walker.

After falling down the pecking order at the North London Club below Kieran Trippier during the final few weeks of this past season, Walker reportedly had a fall out with manager Mauricio Pochettino.

The defender has now reportedly said that he wants to leave the team, with City interested in his services.

City boss Pep Guardiola is reportedly keen on luring Walker and is prepared to fork out £40 million to secure his services.

Spurs however wish to sell the England international for a figure closer to £50 million. This is certainly also within the spending capabilities of City.

The fact that City, who are capable of challenging for trophies will offer Walker first team action as well as in all likelihood a higher salary, will appeal to him. A sale of the player to the Citizens is very much on the cards.
