West Ham midfielder Robert Snodgrass has revealed that he was played out of position by Slaven Bilic during the second half of the season which could explain his poor form.
After scoring nine goals for Hull during the first half of this past season, Snodgrass earned himself a move to West Ham in January, where he has failed to impress. He has been used mainly of the substitute bench and failed to score a goal for the club from 15 appearances.
Recent reports have suggested that Snodgrass may be offloaded by the East London club due to his poor displays amid interest from newly promoted Brighton and Hove Albion.
Snodgrass however has revealed that he is determined to succeed at the Hammers and even recently held talks with Bilic about playing in position, saying, “I was also asked to play on the left to fill the gap vacated by Dmitri Payet but it’s never been my position.
“I’ve scored nearly a hundred goals as a mainly right-sided player and I’ve said to the manager that’s where I think I’m most effective.
“We’ve had a very good discussion and hopefully I’ll be given a run of games where I’m comfortable. If it doesn’t happen right away, I will have to wait for my chance.”
