Rangers reportedly planning audacious swoop for £33million striker

According to reports, Scottish Premiership club Rangers have joined the race to sign Chelsea striker Michy Batshuayi.

Given that Batshuayi’s Belgian team-mate Romelu Lukaku is set to join Chelsea soon, the young striker may fall further down the pecking order at the club and may feel that he should rather get regular playing time with another club.

Chelsea forked out £33 million to lure Batshuayi last summer and though he ended the season on a high by notching three goals from the final four fixtures, he generally struggled for game time throughout this past season.

Gers boss Pedro Caixinha is looking to make a number of additions to his team this summer as he aims to re-establish his side as a giant of Scottish football.

It is rather ambitious of Rangers to join the race as the 23-year-old Belgian will likely not be short of offers and will opt to join a team from France or England.
