Celtic captain Scott Brown has said that he has nothing to prove this Saturday when he lines up for the Scotland national team against England at Hampden Park.
Brown played a huge role for the Bhoys this past season, who had one of the best seasons in their history by claiming the treble.
Paul Scholes, who famously scored a brace during England’s last visit to Hampden in 1999, has questioned whether Brown would have had the same level of influence had he been playing for one of the bigger clubs in England.
And Brown has now hit back by replying to the former Manchester United star Scholes’s comments, “I used to watch Paul Scholes, I used to love him as a player when I was growing up. He was a fantastic player. But I have not got a point to prove, (I have) not got to go down to England to do that.”
Brown has spent the past ten years with Celtic and it looks likely that he will also wind down his career with the club.
