West Ham star Manuel Lanzini has described Lionel Messi as the best footballer in the world. Despite West Ham enduring a difficult season, Lanzini demonstrated good form and won the Hammer of the year award.
Lanzini said of his national team captain Messi, “He is the best player in the world and we are lucky as he is Argentinean. We need to take advantage of this.”
The 24-year-old was rewarded with a place in the Argentina national team as a result of his good form in the Premier League and is looking forward to making his national team debut against Brazil in Melbourne on Friday.
Lanzini has never been called up to an Argentina national team roster before and is likely to play a role in the team that has been named by coach Jorge Sampaoli in his first game in charge. It will be a tough game against South American rivals Brazil.
