Rangers boss hails his latest new recruit

Rangers boss Pedro Caixinha has hailed his club’s new signing Dalcio, who he believes will be useful to the squad as he is an aggressive player who is comfortable with playing on either flank.

Speaking to RangersTV, Caixinha said: “He is a young Portuguese player from Benfica and the under-21 national team and he has the characteristics to play from both wide areas.

“He is left footed but he is comfortable playing on the right, he is the type of player who is comfortable in receiving the ball and he is aggressive attacking the defenders.

“He is aggressive looking for the one-v-one and looking for finishing and he can perform on the right or left.”

Dalcio joined the Gers on Monday arriving on a season long loan deal from Benfica, where he played mainly for the B team this past season.

After the addition of veteran Portuguese defender Bruno Alves and former Aberdeen captain Ryan Jack to the squad, Dalcio became Caixinha’s third signing thus far this summer.

His stats for Benfica B have certainly been average at best. During this past season, Dalcio played 33 matches in total scoring one goal and recording three assists for Benfica B side in the Ledman Pro Liga.

Caixinha will however be confident that he can get the best out of the youngster with his methods. Dalcio is still also young and can develop his game.
