Newcastle United have reportedly won the race to sign prolific striker

According to reports, Newcastle United have won the race to sign Tammy Abraham on loan from Chelsea for next season. The Magpies had reportedly been competing with fellow newly promoted club Brighton and Hove Albion to secure the services of the youngster.

The 19-year-old Abraham showed signs of brilliance last season for Championship outfit Bristol City and scored 26 goals from 48 appearances for the club.

With Newcastle United, Abraham will get the chance to gain Premier League and this will allow the youngster to develop and Chelsea will be able to gauge whether he is capable of succeeding at the highest level. Abraham will likely get regular game time at Newcastle and will have to provide support to Dwight Gayle up front.

Abraham was recently named in Aidy Boothroyd’s England squad that will compete in the European Under-21 Championships in Poland this summer. They will take on Sweden on the 16th June in their first match.
