Nottingham Forest reportedly interested in signing 17-year-old starlet

Nottingham Forest are keen on signing 17-year-old highly rated striker Matthew Knox from Livingston, according to The Mirror’s live transfer center. The youngster helped fire Livingston to promotion.

Mark Warburton is said to be an admirer of the Scottish national, having previously made an attempt to sign the youngster back when Mark was still in charge of Rangers. Mark now faces stiff competition from his former side, who have continued their pursuit of the striker, after previous failed bids.

Knox’s talents haven’t gone unnoticed, gaining the attention of several Premier League clubs, including Liverpool and Manchester United, where Knox has already had three trials; the latest taking place earlier this year in January, along with recently relegated Sunderland, who is one of the several suitors for this rising star.

Matthew Knox could be a great addition to the team over the long term, but even if he is considered a prodigy, Nottingham fans would prefer more Championship-experienced signings brought to the City Ground, especially after barely surviving relegation.
