Pundit David Prutton has taken swipe at Gary Monk for the way in which he departed Leeds United.
In his only full season in charge of the Whites, Monk did impressively by leading the Yorkshire club to a seventh place finish in the Championship and narrowly missing out on a place in the playoffs.
As a result, it came as a surprise to many when Monk decided to part ways with Leeds. Prutton feels the manner in which the former Swansea boss Monk did so was hypocritical given that he criticized Charlie Taylor for wanting to leave Elland Road a month ago.
After Leeds’ game against Wigan, Monk stated that he was disappointed with Taylor as he was not dedicated towards his clubs cause this entire season.
The pundit wrote in his column for the Yorkshire Evening Post, “It [Monk’s departure] just goes to show that nowadays you have almost got managers and players in the same boat.
“We talked about Charlie Taylor not staying and doing it in the right way and then a couple of weeks later it’s all change. The man who was setting the agenda for that and who was calling the shots for that is now on his way himself.”
