Leeds United director predicts bright future for the club

New Leeds director of football Victor Orta has revealed that he expects “great things” to happen to the Yorkshire club.

Orta’s appointment comes four days after the club appointed Angus Kinnear as the person to replace outgoing chief executive Ben Mansford.

Orta, who has previously worked with the likes of Sevilla, Zenit St Petersburg, Elche and Middlesbrough, has high hopes of achieving big things during his tenure with the Whites.

Former Middlesbrough manager Aitor Karanka, who had taken Orta to the Boro from Spanish club Elche, is currently the favorite to become the new Leeds boss ahead of next season.

After narrowly missing out on the promotion playoffs this season, there is no doubt that the aim for Leeds for next season should be to win promotion to the Premier League for the first time since 2004.

Whilst talking about his new job, Orta said, “I am excited by the opportunity to become director of football at a great club like Leeds United.

“Once I had met with Andrea Radrizzani and spoken to him about his plans to take the club forward, I knew that this was the right move for me and I am confident that we can achieve great things in the coming years.”
