According to reports, Tottenham look to have beaten Manchester United in the race to lure Turkish star Cengiz Under.
After joining Turkish outfit Basaksehir last summer for a fee of just £600,000, Cengiz has impressed and earned himself two caps for the Turkey national team in the process.
Manchester United reportedly sent scouts to monitor the 19-year-old Cengniz though Turkish source Ajansspor have indicated that Spurs appear to have won the race to sign the young Turkish star.
Basaksehir chairman Goksel Gumusdag confirmed earlier this year that there was interest in Cengniz when he said, “Cengiz Under was watched by some British and Spanish clubs in the Besiktasgame. I do not want to give away the teams names but we will clarify these issues at the end of the season.”
While Basaksehir will be keen to hold onto the talented youngster it is unlikely that Under will remain with them for the long term.
