Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers has dedicated his team’s treble winning performances this season to his late parents.
The Bhoys completed the treble this season after defeating Aberdeen 2-1 in the final of the Scottish Cup on Saturday.
For much of the final, Celtic had looked sluggish and the game seemed as if it would be headed to extra time. However after coming on as a substitute, Tom Rogic, scored the winner which sealed a deserved treble for the Bhoys.
Speaking after Celtic’s Scottish Cup victory this weekend, Rodgers said, “I think of my mum and dad today. I wish they were here.”
Rodgers Mother Christine passed away in 2010 while his Father Malachy died shortly after. Celtic have been in wonderful form this season and are currently on a run of 47 domestic games unbeaten.
In only his first season as manager, Rodgers has done a wonderful job. The treble success marks the fourth time that the club have achieved the feat in the past fifty years.
