Pablo Zabaleta credits this man for his West Ham move

Pablo Zabaleta has revealed that his decision to join West Ham was influenced by Manuel Lanzini. After being released from City, the veteran defender was not short of offers, with clubs from Italy, Spain and England all interested in signing him.

However after a conversation with fellow Argentinean Lanzini, the 32 year old Zabaleta was convinced that he should sign for the Hammers.

Zabaleta said of his move to West Ham, with whom he has signed a two year contract, “I spoke a few times with him (Lanzini) and of course I’m so happy to see Manu doing that wel.

“I think he had an incredible season and is in the list for the two games for the national team, which is really good for him.”

Having spent successful years with City during which he won two Premier League titles, an FA Cup and two League Cups, Zabaleta is certainly a good addition to the West Ham defence for next season.
