According to reports from the Daily Mail, Manchester United captain Wayne Rooney has offers in the region of £50million from China but wishes to rejoin his boyhood club Everton.
Rooney was not selected for Gareth Southgate’s latest England squad that will play against Scotland and France and must be frustrated considering that he wishes to be a part of the team at the 2018 World Cup.
The money in China will certainly be very lucrative and according to reports, he could earn as much as £480,000-a-week should he move to the Far East. On the other hand, a move to Everton will see the 31-year-old Rooney pocket around £150,000 which is £100,000 less than what he earns at United.
A move to Everton will be the best choice for Rooney should he wish to try and win back a place in the England national team. While a transfer to China will come with a lot of money, it will effectively bring an end to Rooney’s international career.
