Celtic legend Jackie McNamara has taken a dig at Rangers claiming that the Gers risk being left behind while Brendan Rodgers and the Bhoys keep enjoying success.
Celtic dominated the Scottish Premiership this season, emerging victorious without losing a single game. Aberdeen, who finished in second place, ended the season a massive 30 points behind Rodgers team.
McNamara has now highlighted that Rangers could face tough times ahead should they fail to invest in new players soon by saying, “Their best player has been Kenny Miller and he’s 37-year-old. Rangers have got big problems. It’ll be hard for them to get close to Celtic next year without massive investment.
“Unless there’s massive changes financially they’re going to get left behind. Celtic are only going to get stronger.”
Despite McNamara’s admission, Celtic will need to perform well in the Champions League next season in order to prove that they are really worthy of being competitive amongst the elite teams of world football. As for Rangers, they most certainly have to strengthen the squad over the summer.
