West Ham reportedly plotting a sensational move for £58million striker

Anthony Martial

According to reports, West Ham are weighing up a possible move for Manchester United striker Anthony Martial, who was bought by the Red Devils for around £58million.

The Hammers are looking to bolster their attack due to recurring injury problems suffered by Andy Carroll and Diafra Sakho this past season.

In addition to Martial, West Ham have also been linked with the likes of Manchester City striker Kelechi Iheanacho, Chelsea’s Michy Batshuayi and Liverpool’s Daniel Sturridge.

Martial has proven that he is a capable performer at the highest level by bagging 15 goals from 56 appearances.  The French international only managed 18 starts for United this season though and he has failed to impress manager Jose Mourinho.

It remains to be seen whether United will be willing to part ways with Martial, who has been regarded as one of the best up and coming players in World football. If they allow him to leave, they may prefer a loan and French club Lyon are reportedly interested in recruiting Martial on a temporary basis.
