Aston Villa reportedly target a surprise move for 29-year-old winger

According to reports, Aston Villa manager Steve Bruce is eyeing a reunion with defender Ahmed Elmohamady.

Bruce is an admirer of Elmohamady, having signed him during his tenure with Sunderland in 2010 and then went on to recruit him once again for Hull City permanently in 2013.

The 29-year-old is very experienced in English football, boasting 165 appearances in the Premier League for Sunderland and Hull. Bruce may be keen on bringing Elmohamady to Villa Park in order to bolster his team’s promotion chances ahead of next season.

Though the Egypt international was a key part of Hull City’s squad this season, who ended up getting relegated from the Premier League, the Tigers may consider selling as they  look to free up funds ahead of life in the Championship next season.

Should Elmohamady join the Villans, it will be the third time in his career that he has linked up with Bruce.
