West Ham reportedly want Chelsea man; £22million asking price quoted

According to reports, West Ham could make a move for Chelsea defender Nathan Ake. After featuring regularly and playing impressively while on loan with Bournemouth during the first half of the season, Ake was recalled back to the Chelsea team in January.

The Dutchman has however not managed to establish himself at Stamford Bridge upon his return and the club may consider sending him on another loan spell to gain more match experience or selling.

Considering that Gary Cahill, Cesar Azpilicueta and David Luiz are all doing well at the heart of the Chelsea defence, it may be a long time before Ake finally becomes a first team regular.

Bournemouth are also keen on a reunion with Ake and are reported to be willing to fork out £22 million to secure him on a permanent basis.

West Ham are unlikely to match the figure that will be offered by the Cherries but they will be able to offer Ake a higher salary.
