Former Tottenham star Jermaine Jenas believes that many people have underestimated the job done by West Ham manager Slaven Bilic this season, amid the tension that has surrounded the Hammers.
Jenas said, “I think the fact what Slaven Bilic did last night and how he’s managed to steer them away from relegation as well, I think he’s been slightly underestimated.”
The Croat has been criticized this season for poor player recruitment and for failing to build upon the good performances that the club delivered last season. After a series of poor performances led to the East London club briefly flirting with relegation, performances have proved and they are now on a five match unbeaten, run following the surprise 1-0 victory over Tottenham on Friday.
Bilic was under pressure with his job reportedly under review by the West Ham board. The win over Spurs, who are one of the best sides in England currently, would certainly have eased his stress levels.
