Tottenham will have to splash £40million to sign African star

Crystal Palace manager Sam Allardyce has revealed that Tottenham will have to bid at least £40 million if they wish to lure Wilfred Zaha to White Hart Lane.

The Ivory Coast international has been on good form this season and is a key reason as to why the club have managed to pull away from the relegation zone since Allardyce became manager.

As his contract is set to expire in 2020, Palace will be able to keep hold off him for another season and may only sell if a very high sum of money is offered.

Spurs are reportedly interested in luring the 24-year-old and previously had a bid of £12 million, which former boss Alan Pardew described as “ridiculous”, rejected by their London rivals.

Zaha started his professional career with Palace before heading to Manchester United where he had a disastrous spell. After the spell at Old Tafford, Zaha returned to South London, where he has thrived and has begun to show the form which made the Red Devils sign him.
