There will be a bidding war during the summer as Manchester United, Everton, Tottenham Hotspur and Liverpool all battle for the signature of Burnley defender Michael Keane, according to reports from the Daily Telegraph.
Keane has established himself as one of the best defenders in the Premier League this season and is expected to be sold during the summer in order to join a team that can challenge for trophies.
United are set to gain 25% of the fee that Keane is sold for as this was a clause inserted into his contract when he left the Red Devils to join Burnley in 2015. Jose Mourinho is however interested in bringing Keane back to his boyhood club, which would be for a discounted rate.
Considering that Keane is one of the most highly rated defenders currently, he is likely to be sold for a fee that is in excess of £30 million. Everton, Liverpool and Tottenham remain challengers to United in luring the England international in order to bolster their teams ahead of next season.
