According to reports, Inter Milan are eyeing the signature of Tottenham defender Toby Alderweireld, with the 28-year-old said to reject a new contract offer from the North London side.
Inter transfer expect Gianluca Di Marzio revealed that the Italian club are willing to trigger the £25 million release clause in Alderweireld’s current deal as they look to add quality to their defense ahead of next season.
Since arriving at Spurs in 2015 from Atletico Madrid, Alderweireld has established himself as a first team regular within the side. He played all 38 League games last season as Spurs narrowly missed out on winning the Premiership title to Leicester City.
This season he has made 32 appearances for the club in all competitions and played a role in the club’s recent drubbings of Watford and Bournemouth.
Time will tell whether he deal will be made, but should the Belgian international leave, there is no doubt that a lot of people will be disappointed.
