Leeds United were outplayed against Newcastle United on Saturday and can consider themselves lucky to have come out of St James Park with a 1-1 draw and a valuable point.
The performance of veteran goalkeeper Rob Green was however superb and a key reason as to why the Whites escaped with a point.
During the game Newcastle registered 22 shots as compared to four for Leeds. The 37-year-old denied the Magpies on numerous occasions and was aided by good support from Pontus Jansson.
RafaBenitez ‘s side managed to eventually go ahead in the 67th minute after Jamaal Lascelles netted. The Whites were lucky to equalize during stoppage time during the second half as leading goal scorer Chris Wood converted Kemar Roofe’s cross.
Though Wood bagged yet another goal in what has been a terrific season for the New Zealand international, the performance of the former England first choice goalkeeper Green was commendable.
