Celtic reportedly plotting surprise move for Sunderland star

According to reports, Scottish giants Celtic are interested in the signature of Fabio Borini. Brendan Rodgers is a fan of the Italy international, having signed him during his time as manager of both Swansea as well as Liverpool.

Borini is currently on the books of Premier League basement club Sunderland. With the Black Cats likely to be relegated at the end of the season, he may favor a move to a club at a higher level and the fact that he has previously worked with Rodgers may make him consider signing for the Bhoys.

Though Borini missed the first few months of the season through injury, the 26-year-old is now a regular starter for David Moyes team.

With Moussa Dembele likely to leave Celtic Park at the end of the season, Celtic will need to sign forwards to help them score goals next season. There is a good chance that Borini will sign based on the fact that he has previously worked with Rodgers.
