Manchester United legend Rio Ferdinand has claimed that Dele Alli is currently the best young footballer in Europe.
Ferdinand said on his Youtube channel, “Playing from the left side, but joining the attack quickly as he does, Dele Alli. The best young footballer in Europe right now.16 Premier League goals this season.”
The 21-year-old has played a key role for Spurs this season, helping the club occupy second spot on the League standings and he will be expected to win the PFA Young Player award for a second season in a row.
Based on the fact that Alli has scored 16 goals this season and as his statistics are better than the trio of Cristiano Ronaldo, Frank Lampard and Steven Gerrard at his age, there is certainly validity to Ferdinand’s words.
Many will expect Alli to lead the England national team in future years to come. He has certainly shown signs of promise.
