Football pundit Noel Whelan announced on BBC Sport that he felt that Kemar Roofe was the best player for Leeds United as the Yorkshire club defeated Preston North End on Saturday to secure a morale boosting win ahead of their push for promotion to the Premier League.
“I think Roofe is Man of the Match, and he has to keep his place today,” Whelan said on BBC Sport, “He was so positive and he wanted to score a goal – you could see that 30 seconds before he did.”
Roofe put the Whites ahead in the 18th minute before Pablo Hernandez scored a second just before half time. Souleymane Doukara wrapped up the win during stoppage time in the second half.
For Gary Monk’s team the win also proved that the team can also bag goals without Championship player of the year nominee Chris Wood, who has been in sensational form in front of goal this season.
