Celtic star makes surprise call on international career

Celtic midfielder Scott Brown has said that he would like to play for the Scotland national team when they take on England.

The 31-year-old had initially opted to retire from international football last year. However after Gordon Strachan was out of options, he agreed to comeback and was called up to the squad that played against England in November.

He was also in the squad that defeated Slovenia last month, which could mean that he will be available for future matches.

During his appearance on the Ladbrokes Football show, Brown suggested that he may be open to playing in future Scotland games and seemed to be keen to play against England.

He said, “Me and Gordon [Strachan] will probably need to sit down and have a wee chat. I’m feeling good now, I don’t see why I can’t play in that game [against England]. We’ll talk about the holiday situation as well.”

The experience of Brown will certainly be a welcome addition for Strachan.
