Aston Villa boss Steve Bruce explains why he is concerned

Aston Villa have just rounded into their best form of the season, but its all been interrupted now by an untimely international break. And Villa boss Steve Bruce is concerned that his players might not be at full fitness when they return.

Speaking to the Birmingham Mail, Bruce said “Will they all come back okay? That’s the problem,” before saying “there’s a lot going away and you hope they can come back and everybody’s okay.”

For a Championship side, Bruce is having a fair number of players leaving. Among them are Mile Jedinak, James Chester, Jonathan Kodija, and Neil Taylor. They will all likely play twice before returning to play against Norwich.

Bruce is concerned he won’t have a full squad when they get back, but the good news is that they are much safer now than they previously were. They are in much better shape that a month ago, so all should be ok.

Bruce’s tenure, though, could be on the line should he not prove that he’s up for the job as the side prepare for next season’s endeavors.
