Tottenham are set to discover in May whether Real Madrid will be willing to part ways with their target Mateo Kovacic, according to the Daily Mirror.
The 22-year-old has struggled to receive game time for the Spanish giants this season and is reportedly considering his long term future with the club.
However should the Croatia international be sold, he will not come cheap and will likely cost in the region of £17.5 million. Though the buyout clause is £21.8 million, Madrid will likely reduce the fee in the event that they do decide to sell.
Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino is reportedly a huge fan of Kovacic but the Croatian is said to wish to remain at Madrid.
In addition, Real may also see him as part of their long term ambitions and one can assume that it is unlikely that they will be willing to part ways at this point in time. Kovacic certainly has shown promise that he can become a world class talent in future years to come.
